Hangar Technology is Acquired by AirMap to Provide Enhanced Functions and Technical Services for Developers and Enterprises
This acquisition further improves the service of AirMap uav traffic management platform and helps Hangar expand its business globally
Beijing, China, October 10, 2019 - AirMap, the world's leading UAV airspace information platform, announced the acquisition of Hangar Technology, an enterprise-class UAV workflow automation platform. The acquisition not only continues AirMap's development strategy, which is to provide an open, networked, automated airspace management solution for the entire UAV market, but also promotes Hangar to expand its business to the international market and new industry applications.
As an industry leader, AirMap automates large-scale compliance UAV operations and embeds digital technology into traditional traffic management systems to enable UAV operators to operate safely and efficiently in low-altitude airspace. The acquisition of Hangar has further enhanced AirMap's enterprise-oriented services, enabling companies to cope with increasingly complex airspace environments and ensure safe, efficient and large-scale operations of advanced UAVs.
Hangar Technology, founded in 2015, is committed to providing UAV workflow automation services for enterprises. Its products include JobSight, an application specially designed for construction projects, which can automatically complete orthophoto projection, panorama and other imaging, and TowerSight, a digital workflow application that can automatically monitor base stations.
Hangar software has advanced autonomous flight and mission execution engines that can scan every target accurately. Subsequently, Hangar platform will automatically extract, process and analyze UAV data, and then achieve accurate digital image reconstruction and detailed component analysis.
Airmap is expected to integrate hangar's top workflow automation technology, high-precision flight planning and image processing functions into airmap's API and SDK platform in the next few months for developers and enterprises around the world.
Ben Marcus, co-founder and chairman of AirMap, said: "Hangar has previously joined the AirMap community to develop breakthrough automation technologies for businesses. We are very happy to bring Hangar design talent into the company, and our entire developer community can benefit from it."
"We have worked closely with major manufacturers in the construction industry and communication base stations to help them simplify and automate every aspect of the UAV system monitoring process," said Scott Lumish, chief executive of Hangar. "We look forward to working with AirMap to provide better services for global enterprises with AirMap's space management capabilities."
Hangar Technology's headquarters and team will remain in Austin, Texas, after becoming a subsidiary of AirMap.
